Porohy #1 (2025)

The war continues — and along with it, work goes on that often remains invisible on the front pages of the news. This issue of Porohy focuses on the human efforts that shape resistance in its various forms.

The story of a young woman who is changing Ukraine together with the Foundation for Regional Initiatives reminds us that lasting change is born from personal responsibility and long-term commitment. The conversation with Oles Shokal about the initiative Drones for Ukraine opens another dimension of this work — trust as the key currency of aid, without which no technology can turn into real support for the frontlines.

A separate focus of the issue is the life of Ukrainian families abroad. The text on how parents preserve the national identity of their children raises questions about the continuity of culture under conditions of forced migration and daily compromises. Alongside this, an analytical piece on how Russia organizes “pobiedobesiye” around the world shows that the war for symbols and narratives continues far beyond the battlefield.

This issue is about resilience and clarity. About how, in times of war, individual actions, words, and decisions combine into a shared space of responsibility — on the threshold of which the future is being formed.
