FAQ

What are “Porohy” and what is this magazine about?

“Porohy” is a Ukrainian cultural and political magazine published in Prague since 1994. Its name metaphorically refers to the Dnipro rapids — a symbol of Ukrainian freedom and statehood, and the historical place where the Zaporizhian Sich was formed.

The magazine is published monthly. Each issue features texts on the history of Ukrainians in Czechia and worldwide, interviews with inspiring individuals, analytical essays, as well as social, political, and cultural topics.

Where can I find the magazine “Porohy”?

The magazine can be delivered directly to your mailbox by subscribing to a yearly subscription for just 700 CZK — including postal delivery.

“Porohy” is also available at the House of National Minorities in Prague (in the foyer of the main entrance), as well as at cultural events and in public spaces where the magazine represents the Ukrainian community.
